Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Qualified Actuary to join our team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our actuarial function, responsible for a wide range of tasks from financial modeling and business planning to supporting major regulatory changes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and a comprehensive understanding of both actuarial principles and broader financial reporting concepts. You will work closely with the Chief Actuary team and other senior leaders, providing critical insights that drive strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

New Business & Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain new business pricing models and assumptions, ensuring they are robust and reflect current market conditions and risk profiles.

Business Planning: Contribute to the development and maintenance of the company's business planning model, providing actuarial insights that support strategic forecasting and goal setting.

Risk & Capital Management: Lead the methodology, assumptions, and output for the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA), ensuring compliance and sound risk management practices.

Model Governance & Deep Dives: Conduct in-depth reviews and deep dives on models used to support key assumption changes, ensuring their accuracy, appropriateness, and documentation.

Regulatory Support: Act as a subject matter expert, supporting change initiatives related to new accounting and reporting regulations and standards, such as IFRS 17.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Provide essential support to the Chief Actuary team, while also maintaining a strong understanding of Financial Reporting to effectively collaborate with the CFO's office and other finance functions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Actuarial Qualification: You must be a fully qualified actuary from a recognized professional body (e.g., FSA, FIA, FFA, CERA).

Experience: Proven experience in a similar role within the insurance or financial services industry, with a focus on new business, pricing, and modeling.

Technical Expertise: Strong technical and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of actuarial modeling software and methodologies.

Financial Acumen: A solid grasp of financial reporting standards and the ability to articulate actuarial concepts to non-actuarial stakeholders, including the CFO and finance teams.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, inquisitive mindset
