The predicted salary is between 54000 - 84000 £ per year.
Responsibility and oversight for all aspects of the organisation’s direct tax liabilities, including the preparation of the tax filings and declarations. Additional responsibilities include ownership of the global indirect tax advisory team. This role ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations, develops and implements effective tax strategies, and consults on the impacts of changes to tax legislation and regulations to the company. This is an opportunity to own and develop the tax strategy of the company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing internal team and external relationships related to income tax filings and tax controversy support
- Serving as primary contact with HMRC and Irish Revenue
- Managing and reviewing accounting for income tax calculations for both US GAAP and IFRS
- Serving as principal point of contact for regional management, new product approvals, transaction related tax considerations and regional external tax advisors
- Overseeing regional tax risk including reputational tax risk and oversight of the regional control framework
- Providing advice, review and consideration as to the reasonableness of regional indirect tax calculations including UK PESM
- Serving as primary tax contact and chief tax advisor for business activities located within region
- Developing and leading a culture of talent development and teamwork to meet business objectives
Skills/Experience required:
- Experience from Financial services ideally in a high growth/scale up environment
- Desire to get involved in all aspects of the tax function and apply knowledge in a wide ranging set of initiatives
- Work closely with the CFO and CEO on all aspects of tax strategy
- Experience of process improvement and driving digital efficiencies
- Strong UK and Ireland income tax technical knowledge, international tax experience, VAT tax knowledge and significant working knowledge of transfer pricing
- Relevant experience managing a team across multiple time zones and countries
- Excellent communication and analytical skills to facilitate communication and collaboration with a wide-range of stakeholders on relevant and complex tax concepts
- Highly effective at partnering and developing relationships across the organisation
- Ability to operate independently while driving continual improvement across the function
- Relevant experience in the financial services industry as well as working with HMRC and Irish Revenue
