Director – Eximius Finance (Accounting and Finance recruitment)
A leading banking organisation is seeking a Senior Payroll Director to lead the existing team following a period of significant growth across EMEA and APAC. This role will be comprehensive and focused on delivering payroll solutions efficiently to a complex, global business. It offers a substantial opportunity to influence operational processes and drive organizational change.
Based in London (City), the role requires presence in the office three days a week, with additional flexibility as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee payroll teams across EMEA & APAC nearshore locations.
- Design and implement internal controls to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing in compliance with international laws and regulations, supported by proper documentation.
- Manage full-cycle Payroll and HR Operations processing for 21 countries in EMEA and APAC.
- Recruit and develop top talent, serving as subject matter experts and points of contact for payroll inquiries.
- Establish and influence standards for financial controls related to payroll activities.
- Review and develop control documentation for end-to-end payroll processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve operating procedures in line with regulatory and compliance standards to support audits.
- Develop strategies to minimize legal risks and operational impacts related to payroll.
- Lead organizational resolution approaches aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with professionals at all levels, including senior managers.
- Guide the team to achieve business goals.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage resource allocation for payroll functions.
- Cultivate a culture of talent development to support business strategy.
- Manage a team of 10-15 FTEs.
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in International Payroll management.
- Management or leadership experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Comprehensive experience in international Payroll, Payroll Tax, HR Operations, and audits.
- Experience with Workday Payroll, ServiceNow, ADP Global View Payroll, and CloudPay Payroll.
- Strong motivational skills to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure.
- High attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to build credibility and effective relationships quickly.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects in large enterprises.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong change management and technological proficiency.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Qualified Accountant (CPA/ACA or equivalent) preferred but not required.
- Flexibility and agility in a changing environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
