A Line Leader plays a key role in the production process. They are responsible for the efficient completion of customer orders while ensuring compliance with Winterwood's internal policies and procedures. Line Leaders supervise packers, infeed/outfeed staff, and the Pallet Truck Driver assigned to their line. They must ensure the correct packaging is used for specific customer orders (according to customer specifications) and that the correct fruit is allocated to packers (based on stock allocations).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setting up the line prior to work;
  • Changing tools and film, setting up the line's printer, checkweigher, metal detector, and production scales;
  • Setting up heat-sealers for each job (GT2 and GT2s);
  • Calibrating the metal detector;
  • Setting up label applicators;
  • Completing required checks;
  • Ensuring cleaning procedures are followed, documented on the tablet.

The starting rate is £14-£15 per hour, with the possibility of increase after training and a 3-month probation period. On-site training will be provided, during which all relevant information will be explained.
