Responsibilities:
- Work with children and young people up to 19 years of age with visual impairment both in school and across Warwickshire, providing interventions within the classroom and outside the classroom in a wide range of areas from the V.I curriculum framework.
Qualifications:
- Hold a recognised and relevant qualification NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent).
- Experience of working with visually impaired students.
- Hold or be willing to work towards an advanced V.I. practitioner qualification.
- Have a minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grades A-C or Grade 4-9.
- Have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs.
- Have a full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle with business insurance.
- Have manual handling training or be willing to undertake immediate training.
- Understand and be able to work with Care Plans.
- To develop a knowledge of specialist equipment, its uses and operation and be prepared to demonstrate e.g. braillers, embossers.
- IT skills sufficient to use computerised technologies to provide VI resources.
Salary and Benefits:
- The salary range for this position is £33,699 - £36,363 full‑time equivalent which equates to £25,460 - £27,473 per annum actual salary for 32.5 hours per week working term time plus 5 training days.
- Mileage is paid at a rate of 45p per mile.
