Exeter High School in SAU 16 seeks outstanding applicants for the position of Sub‑Varsity Soccer (Freshman/JV) Coach at Exeter High School.
Responsibilities
- To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realise a degree of individual and team success.
- To instruct and demonstrate behaviours that lead to socially acceptable character development, self‑discipline, self‑confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student athletes.
- To upgrade the coach’s knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.
Qualifications
- Has the ability to organise and supervise a soccer program.
- Has previous successful coaching experience preferred.
- The coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to soccer.
- The coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies of Exeter High School.
- Has knowledge of existing NFHS/NHIAA regulations.
- Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels.
- Is aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that require attendance.
Administrative Duties
- Assists the athletic director in scheduling, providing transportation and requirements for tournament and special sport events.
- Assists in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sport events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times.
Student Responsibilities
- Serves as a mentor to each athlete to promote the development and demonstration in student athletes of the character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
- Gives constant attention to a student athlete’s grades and conduct.
- By his/her presence at all practices, games and while travelling, provides assistance, guidance and safeguards for each participant.
Reports To
The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principal.
