Exeter High School in SAU 16 seeks outstanding applicants for the position of Assistant Girls Tennis Coach.
Responsibilities
- To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realise a degree of individual and team success.
- To instruct and demonstrate behaviours that lead to socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student athletes.
- To upgrade knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.
Qualifications
- Ability to organise and supervise a JV Tennis programme.
- Previous successful coaching experience preferred.
- Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport, while continuing to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to Tennis.
- Serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies of EHS.
- Knowledge of existing NHIAA regulations.
- Understanding of the proper administrative line of command and referring all requests or grievances through proper channels.
- Aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that require attendance.
Administrative Duties
- Assist the head coach and athletic director in scheduling, providing transportation and requirements for tournament and special sport events.
- Assist in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sport events or practices and adhere to scheduled facility times.
Student Responsibilities
- Serve as a mentor to each athlete to promote the development and demonstration in student athletes of the character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
- Give constant attention to a student athlete's grades and conduct.
- Provide assistance, guidance and safeguards for each participant by being present at all practices, games and while travelling.
Reports to
The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principal.
