Exeter High School is looking for an individual to join our administrative assistant team, responsible for a variety of needs, supporting students, families, and staff. Under the direct supervision of the principal, this candidate will provide highly organized clerical support and administrative assistance to school administration at a school site, supporting the broad array of services provided to students, caregivers, and school staff.
Essential Functions
- Serve as the first point of contact for families, students, and visitors (in-person, phone, email)
- Manage and triage incoming communication with professionalism and discretion
- Maintain a welcoming, calm, and organized front office environment
- Handle confidential information appropriately (student, staff, and family matters)
- Manage the principal's calendar, scheduling meetings, events, and priorities
- Coordinate logistics for meetings (rooms, materials, communication, agendas when needed)
- Draft, proofread, and distribute communications (emails, newsletters, letters)
- Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and documents
- Assist with student-related issues (late arrivals, dismissals, parent requests)
- Communicate with families regarding appointments, concerns, and general inquiries
- Support coordination of student events (graduation, assemblies, testing days)
- Support compliance with state reporting, audits, and documentation requirements
- Track and manage forms, permissions, and required paperwork
- Coordinate daily building operations
- Support emergency procedures and drills (communication, documentation, logistics)
- Assist with transportation communication (bus notes, changes, coordination)
- Serve as a resource for staff questions and problem-solving day-to-day needs
- Support onboarding logistics for new staff (access, materials, orientation coordination)
- Coordinate internal communication and staff updates

- Manage shared documents, templates, and organizational tools
- Track deadlines, follow-ups, and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner
