We are looking for a videographer to join our team. Exeter Chiefs and Sandy Park have grown successfully on and off the pitch through the use of the written word and compelling visual storytelling. Now, a core part of daily communication and marketing strategy is to create, edit and publish professionally crafted, engaging video and social storytelling content that helps to portray who we are and our role in the local landscape. This role will be focused on creating scroll‑stopping content, growing brand awareness on a global scale, and increasing audience engagement across our multiple digital communication channels.
The role
- Head up the planning, filming, editing, and finished product delivery of all non‑commercial videography projects for the men’s, women’s and academy rugby teams.
- Film and create matchday video content for social media channels.
- Work within the marketing team to conceptualise and create relevant videos aligning with marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with the social media & content manager to create and strategise optimised video content for all relevant social media platforms.
- Head up the planning, filming, editing, and finished product delivery of commercial videography projects within the business: Sandy Park conferencing centre, Club Shop, corporate sales, ticketing, events, community and the Exeter Chiefs Foundation.
- Help to develop and implement a strategy to increase Exeter Chiefs portfolio profiles, ticket sales, events and database.
- Assist with media days including sponsors, outside broadcasters and media.
- Work with the players and staff to create and implement content distribution through social media channels.
- Perform ad‑hoc photography requests as required.
- Report to the head of communications & PR on all activities and projects, keeping them updated with progress on all content creation, also head of marketing where relevant.
- Work alongside the media manager and social media & content manager.
Person specification
- Demonstratable filming skills in planning, capturing, recording and the ability to edit video using Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro or equivalent).
- Knowledge in Adobe After Effects would be preferable.
- Demonstratable photography skills.
- A highly‑organised professional with an eye for detail and an ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and effectively prioritise competing demands.
- Creative thinker and story‑teller with a proven ability to produce engaging and emotive content to connect with multiple and varied audiences.
- Self‑motivated with proven ability to solve problems and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Degree or college educated (or relevant qualifications in videography).
- A good understanding and a keen interest in rugby.
- Excellent working knowledge of all communication platforms.
- Confident using website platforms and good knowledge of YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
