This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people from diverse backgrounds, including refugees, asylum seekers and learners who are new to the UK education system. You will combine outstanding teaching with programme leadership, helping learners develop their English language skills, confidence and readiness for further study, employment and life in the UK.

About the Role

As Programme Leader, you will provide high-quality teaching, learning and assessment whilst contributing to the leadership and development of our Young ESOL provision. You will support curriculum planning, quality improvement and learner success, ensuring students receive an outstanding educational experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering engaging and inclusive ESOL and English teaching.
  • Acting as a personal tutor, providing academic, pastoral and progression support.
  • Supporting curriculum planning, course coordination and programme development.
  • Leading quality improvement activities and contributing to self-assessment and quality assurance processes.
  • Building effective relationships with parents, carers, employers, support agencies and external partners.
  • Supporting learner recruitment, enrolment, induction and progression.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and innovative educator who can inspire young learners and help them achieve their potential.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience teaching ESOL.
  • Experience developing personalised learning resources and supporting learners with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and administration skills.
  • The ability to motivate, inspire and engage young people.
  • Strong IT skills and a commitment to outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area.
  • A recognised teaching qualification.

Experience working with refugees, unaccompanied asylum‑seeking children or young people aged 16‑18 would be advantageous.
