Job Description and Person Specification

If you love creating content that gets people talking, know what makes a campaign land and are always spotting the next great story, this brand-new role in our Marketing and Communications team could be for you.

This isn’t a role where you wait for a brief to land in your inbox. You’ll be out there finding the stories, people and opportunities that showcase what makes North Devon College special, and turning them into content that connects with the audiences we want to reach.

You’ll take day-to-day ownership of our social media channels and student recruitment and reputation campaigns – planning, setting up, delivering and optimising paid and organic activity from start to finish. You’ll identify the audience, shape the message, select the right channels, manage budgets and create or coordinate the campaign assets needed to make it happen, working closely with our in-house designer.

One day you might be setting up and monitoring a paid recruitment campaign; the next, capturing student content, creating a Reel, developing campaign creative, writing social copy or analysing performance to decide what we should do next.

We’re looking for someone who understands audiences, channels and content, with strong copywriting skills and the confidence to create engaging written, photographic and short-form video content. You’ll be comfortable setting up and managing paid social campaigns, planning organic activity, managing budgets and deadlines, and using data and insight to continually improve performance.

Most importantly, you’ll take ownership. You’ll build relationships across the College, seek out opportunities, challenge and improve briefs, coordinate colleagues and suppliers and keep activity moving. You’ll understand what we’re trying to achieve and turn that into creative, audience‑focused marketing that delivers results.

In return? High standards, real autonomy and the opportunity to make a true impact. You’ll join a friendly, ambitious Marketing and Communications team at an exciting time for North Devon College, with the freedom to bring forward ideas, experiment with content and help shape how we tell our story.

You’ll also benefit from a generous holiday allowance, enhanced pension contributions and a wide range of additional employee benefits.

If you’re full of ideas, curious about what makes audiences tick and ready to create campaigns and content that get noticed, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a fully office-based role at our Barnstaple campus.
