We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Motor Vehicle Assessor to join our Construction, Engineering & Motor Vehicle team. If you've got industry experience, enjoy working with people, and want to help the next generation of technicians, mechanics, and automotive professionals thrive, this could be the perfect role for you.
This isn't your typical workshop role. One day you'll be visiting employers, supporting apprentices and learners in the workplace. The next, you'll be assessing practical skills, developing industry partnerships, and helping learners gain the confidence and experience they need to launch successful careers.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support and assess learners completing the workplace element of their programme
- Build strong relationships with local employers and placement providers
- Arrange and carry out workplace assessments and observations
- Coach and guide learners towards achieving their qualifications
- Help source exciting new placement opportunities
- Work collaboratively with teaching teams to support learner success
- Use digital assessment systems such as OneFile to track progress
- Promote the department and identify recruitment opportunities
- Ensure workplaces meet health, safety and compliance requirements
What We're Looking For
You’ll be someone who:
- Has a background in Motor Vehicle or a closely related discipline
- Has experience teaching, coaching, mentoring or training
- Holds an assessor qualification or is willing to work towards one
- Is a natural communicator who enjoys building relationships
- Can work independently while being a great team player
- Is committed to continuous professional development
- Brings a friendly, positive, and approachable attitude to work every day
Bonus Points If You Have
- Previous assessing experience
- Experience working with apprentices or work placements
- Two years' post-qualification experience
- A Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
