Are you passionate about wellness, hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences? We have an exciting opportunity for a Spa Welcome Host to join our team on a full-time basis (37 hours per week) at the Spa at St Sidwell's Point, Exeter. As the face of the spa, you will play a vital role in shaping every guest's journey, from the first enquiry to their departure. This is a rewarding and varied role that combines outstanding customer service, operational responsibility, sales awareness, and attention to detail. Working alongside a passionate and supportive team, you will help create an environment where guests feel cared for, valued, and inspired to prioritise their wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day spa operation, proactively recognising priorities and ensuring the smooth running of all front-of-house activities.
  • Act as the central point of communication between guests, therapists, management, and the wider team.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service at every stage of the guest journey, whether in person, over the phone, or via email.
  • Manage spa reservations efficiently and confidently, providing knowledgeable guidance on treatments, facilities, products, and memberships.
  • Utilise booking systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, with accuracy and confidence.
  • Maintain exceptionally high standards throughout all spa facilities, ensuring every area is clean, organised, visually appealing, and guest-ready at all times.
  • Identify opportunities to recommend and upsell treatments, products, memberships, and experiences, contributing to both individual and team targets.
  • Support the continuous success and growth of the spa through professionalism, initiative, and a commitment to excellence.
We're looking for someone who genuinely cares about people and takes pride in creating exceptional experiences. You'll have a passion for wellbeing and hospitality, a natural eye for detail, and an appreciation for beautiful, welcoming spaces.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being at the heart of a busy operation. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, confidently taking ownership of tasks, staying one step ahead, and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes so our guests can fully relax and unwind. We're seeking a positive, self-motivated team player who combines warmth and professionalism with strong organisational skills. You'll be comfortable working independently, building meaningful relationships with guests and colleagues, and consistently delivering the highest standards of customer care. Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Professional, polished appearance and presentation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to work towards individual and team targets, proactively upsell treatments, products, and services. Experience in a spa, hospitality, luxury retail, or customer service environment is desirable.

At The Spa at St Sidwell's Point, our mission is simple: to make a genuine difference to people's wellbeing. Every day, we go above and beyond to create memorable experiences for our guests, whether they are visiting for a special occasion or incorporating wellness into their everyday lives. We pride ourselves on delivering a warm, personalised service within a contemporary and beautifully maintained environment. Working with the award-winning GAIA Skincare brand, we embrace a holistic approach to wellbeing and are passionate about creating experiences that nourish both body and mind. We are proud of our culture, where high standards, teamwork, positivity, and genuine care for both guests and colleagues are at the centre of everything we do.

Why join us? This is more than a reception role. It's an opportunity to become an integral part of a highly respected spa team, help create exceptional experiences every day, and develop your career within a growing and ambitious wellness environment. We work hard, support each other, celebrate success, and share a common goal: delivering excellence in every guest interaction.
