Exeter City FC is delighted to offer a Business Operations Work Experience Programme this July, designed to give students a unique insight into how a professional football club operates across multiple departments. This immersive week will provide participants with the opportunity to learn from and spend time with staff across the business from Departments such as Media, Ticketing, Operations, HR, Finance, Retail & Events (specific Departments to be included will be finalised nearer the time of the placement week).
Rather than focusing on just one area, this programme is designed to give students a broad and realistic understanding of the different roles that contribute to the success of a football club, off the pitch.
During the week, students can expect:
- An introduction to Exeter City FC and the values of the Club
- Exposure to the day-to-day workings of the behind the scenes operations
- Practical tasks, observation opportunities and Q&A sessions with club staff
This placement is ideal for students with a strong interest in Business Operations and who are keen to learn, ask questions and gain hands-on experience in a Professional Club environment. More details regarding the content of the week will be shared nearer the time.
The placement will be based at St James Park Stadium but may include some time at The Cliff Hill Training Ground. The placement will start on Monday 13th July 2026 and run for 5 days. Spaces are limited, and applicants will be selected based on enthusiasm, interest and suitability for the programme.
