What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver engaging, hands‑on and theory‑based sessions in Bricklaying across Levels 1–3.
- Teach a wide range of practical skills including brickwork, blockwork, cavity walls, and setting out.
- Bring additional trades to life, including rendering and basic plastering.
- Create exciting lesson plans and learning materials that make construction skills accessible and enjoyable.
- Support learners in building confidence, employability skills, and professional standards.
- Provide meaningful feedback that helps students grow and succeed.
Assessment & Quality
- Plan and deliver assessments in line with awarding body and college standards.
- Track and support learner progress with accurate and timely records.
- Contribute to quality assurance processes and continuous improvement within the department.

What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A strong background in Bricklaying with solid industry experience.
- Level 3 (or above) qualification in Bricklaying or Construction Craft.
- Experience in rendering, plastering, or related trowel trades.
- A teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training) or willingness to work towards one.
- Assessor qualification (TAQA/A1) or willingness to achieve.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a workshop environment effectively.
Desirable:
- Experience teaching in Further Education or training apprentices.
- Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) qualification.
- A current CSCS card or recent industry CPD.
- Experience working with both 16‑19 learners and adult students.
