The Challenge Ahead
Just 13 miles south of Manchester and a 15-minute train journey, is the attractive market town of Wilmslow. Here amongst the boutique shops and independent cafes and bars is the stunning Playdemic studio. Acquired by EA in 2021, Playdemic is home to the top 10 grossing, BAFTA-winning mobile smash – Golf Clash. Having opened at the beginning of 2020, our award-winning, bespoke studio space offers conventional desk space and indulgent breakout areas, meeting rooms and alternative workspaces. The office has been ridgeline-designed to create an environment that encourages and allows our team to do their very best work.
Responsibilities
- You will help evaluate quantitative game data to guide conclusions on the state of the game economy.
- You will help translate business objectives into game-specific objectives to help reach targets.
- You will help build forecast models to predict performance of individual game features and prepare expected outcomes.
- You will read and synthesize competitive analysis to evaluate best industry practices and share knowledge with the team.
- You will help build a long-term strategy for the studio by analysing market conditions and realistic expectations.
Qualifications
- You are currently studying in the penultimate year of undergraduate study with a planned placement year.
- You are available to commence a full-time 12 month placement in July 2026.
- You are eligible to work in the UK without additional visa or relocation support.
Skills
- Have an entry level understanding of financial modelling and free-to-play games as a business.
- Write and edit different materials and synthesize ideas to explain concepts and analysis to technical and non-technical readers in easy-to-understand language.
- Have a basic understanding of free to play games market trends, game systems and player motivations.
- Synthesize quantitative metrics into coherent narratives and guide conclusions or actions.
