Are you passionate about solving complex engineering challenges and driving innovation? We are looking for talented engineers across multiple levels to join our Equipment Engineering team and help shape the future of our products and technologies.
The Equipment Support Group (ESG) is responsible for the installation, uptime reliability and yield performance of high-tech state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment used in the cleanroom production of magnetic thin film heads; with photolithography, vacuum deposition/etch, electroplating and metrology being the core principles used in the manufacturing of the nanoscale engineered devices. The ESG group works closely with process, facilities, R&D and industrial engineering groups to drive best-in-class results through all aspects of equipment health performance factors for these high-cost capital assets. We welcome individuals from all relevant engineering disciplines.
About the role: You will have responsibility for the performance of these complex and specialized manufacturing systems; you will liaise with OEM engineers from a range of worldwide suppliers, as well as internal engineers and technicians from other functional groups. With a blend and mix of hands-on troubleshooting and data analysis, every day will present a different challenge.
Main Tasks:
- Collect, analyze and interpret equipment performance data to drive more effective decision making.
- Development and automation of KPIs and strategies for early detection and control.
- Planning and coordination of equipment installation and EHS considerations.
- Maximizing equipment throughput and yield performance.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and manage machine hard down events.
- Continuous improvement to reduce tool failures by introducing new engineering projects.
- Participate and lead cross-functional teams and projects.
- Collaboration and communication with Seagate sites in the USA and Asia.
About you: This role does not meet the criteria set by the Home Office for sponsorship on a Skilled Worker Visa as such sponsorship of this visa cannot be offered.
You Have:
- Utilising excellent problem-solving, communication and organisational skills, you will identify and lead projects to improve process control and production throughput by driving advancements in machine capability and reliability.
- Keen to expand and progress your knowledge around new methods to achieving project goals that seem challenging.
- Balance large workloads and ability to identify and prioritise whatβs important to the companyβs success.
- The ability and confidence to work individually and as part of a team depending on requirements.
- Have a logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Be able to work directly hands-on and able to learn fundamental electrical and mechanical diagnosis skills.
Your experience: Preferably you will have an engineering degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in an electronic, mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, chemical engineering or related degree and extensive relevant engineering experience that would demonstrate your ability to meet and exceed the demands of the role as described above. Or, have an engineering degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in an electronic, mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, chemical engineering related degree and with limited relevant engineering experience but can demonstrate the ability to adapt and meet the requirements of the role as described above. Or, extensive engineering experience in wafer fabrication/semi-conductor sector with a proven track record.
