As a Warehouse Operative, you will report to the Warehouse Manager and will be responsible for ensuring full control and work within Central Stores (Staveley), to ensure efficient, safe and accurate handling of stock and deliver a high quality to all customers.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Control the goods in workflow to ensure all order deliveries are unloaded safely and booked into the WMS correctly.
  • Unloading of vehicles, controlling returned product and deliveries.
  • Work with team colleagues to ensure the workplace environment is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.
  • Take reasonable care of both your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected. Ensure all health and safety systems are followed at all times and raise any concerns, incidents or suggestions to your line manager.
  • Assist with the return of goods to the warehouse.

What we’ll need from you:

  • Computer literate; including competence in Outlook, Word & Excel.
  • Good knowledge and competence in use of WMS systems, reports and tools.
  • Able to develop / contribute to the development of procedures.
  • Have a proven track record in stock control / warehouse operations.
  • Able to effectively communicate with customers, internal and external, and colleagues at all levels.
  • Conscientious, thorough in task completion.
  • Able to accommodate flexible hours of work – for example, month end stock takes, late arrival of goods/courier etc.
