Location: Swallownest, S26 4WB

Contract: Part‑time – 20 hours per week

Rate: £12.71 per hour

About the role

The Activities Coordinator will organise, plan and lead creative activities that support residents with learning disabilities to live fulfilled, happy lives. Working in a homely environment, you will tailor activities to each resident’s goals, interests and abilities, ensuring that every day is engaging and person‑centred.

Responsibilities

  • Individual activity planning based on residents’ unique goals and interests.
  • Fostering community spirit through group activities.
  • Supporting residents to maintain current and discover new hobbies, interests and educational opportunities.
  • Encouraging resident participation in local community events.
  • Celebrating national awareness days, holidays and resident achievements.
  • Promoting choice, dignity and independence in all activities.
  • Maintaining accurate records of activity plans and progress.
  • Working with the team to provide safe and supportive environments for all residents.

Qualifications and skills

  • Caring and compassionate mindset.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for developing new activities.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to resident preferences.
  • Experience within the care sector is valuable but not essential.
