About the Role
Join us as our new Dementia Specialist Unit Manager at Springfield Vale care home in Barnsley. You will work at a senior level under the Clinical Nurse Manager to manage a team of nursing and care staff, drive quality, and maintain high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead your unit’s care and nursing teams to meet physical, emotional, and medical needs of residents.
- Maintain and continuously develop high standards of care, driving continuous improvement.
- Oversee all unit clinical elements and manage associated risks.
- Ensure care plans and risk assessments are completed, reviewed and updated timely.
- Act as the Named Nurse for residents in your unit, responsible for care profile oversight.
- Supervise ordering, handling, storage and administration of medication.
Qualifications
- First‑level nursing registration with a valid NMC PIN. Experience as Adult, Mental Health, or Learning Disability Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD) is preferred.
- Post‑registration management or supervisory experience and/or training/qualifications.
- Excellent clinical and communication skills, with a positive, enthusiastic approach.
- Strong organisational skills, able to work confidently on your own initiative.
- Good digital skills.
