About the role
As Catering Manager, you’ll lead our Catering Team in providing healthy and inviting meals for the people we support.
The role involves creating nutritious menus for a range of dietary requirements and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and safely.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day‑to‑day running of the kitchen.
- Prepare, cook and serve food.
- Understand people’s needs, likes and choices to develop suitable menus.
- Ensure the Catering Team complies with food hygiene standards.
- Complete relevant checks and maintain accurate records.
- Control stock and purchases within an allocated budget.
- Lead and manage Catering Team members, providing induction, training and support.
Qualifications
- Experience as a cook with a flair for creating delicious and nutritious meals for varied dietary requirements.
- Creative in menu development and food preparation.
- Excellent team player, able to coordinate, support and motivate a team.
- Experience in managing a catering budget.
- Adaptable and flexible.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification, or working towards it.
- Previous experience in a similar management position and environment, ideally in a care setting.
