Position: Senior Health Care Assistant - Nights Only

Care home: Laurel Place

Location: Gudmensen Avenue, Bishop Auckland, DL14 6RG

Contract type: Full time – 42hrs per week. 8pm to 8am

Rate: £14.77 per hour

About the role

The Senior Health Care Assistant works closely with the Nurse in Charge and leads the Care Team to support residents’ day‑to‑day life.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting people with personal care
  • Assisting people at meal times
  • Understanding individual health and wellbeing needs
  • Encouraging and supporting participation in social activities
  • Promoting choice, dignity, independence and respect
  • Leading, motivating and supporting a team of care colleagues
  • Ensuring that care documentation is completed to a high standard

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience as a Health Care Assistant
  • Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care
  • Maths and English at GCSE Grade C or above (or functional skills equivalent)
