About the Role:
On behalf of our client, a globally renowned multinational company within the services sector, we are seeking a high-calibre, commercially minded Country CFO to lead the financial operations of their high-performing UK subsidiary. Turning over several hundred million pounds, the UK business is a critical part of the company's global operations.
As the UK CFO, you will act as a strategic co-pilot to the UK Managing Director and a key bridge to the global headquarters. You will oversee a robust finance function, ensuring top-tier governance while actively driving commercial strategy, margin optimisation, and business transformation. This is a hybrid role offering excellent flexibility, balancing remote work with purposeful time in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Partner with the UK MD and executive team to define and execute the UK commercial strategy.
- Corporate Governance: Ensure full compliance with UK statutory requirements, tax regulations, and internal global policies.
- Financial Performance: Deliver accurate FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and insightful variance analysis to both local management and global HQ.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and upscale a talented UK finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Commercial Insight & Transformation: Evaluate business cases, manage working capital, and identify cost-efficiency and growth opportunities to drive structural business transformation.
Requirements:
- Leadership Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a CFO or Finance Director.
- Multinational Scale: A strong track record within a complex, matrixed multinational environment, ideally managing finance operations for businesses with a turnover of £100m+.
- Strategic & Transformation Acumen: Demonstrated success in driving business transformation and shaping long-term commercial strategy, looking beyond the numbers to influence business growth.
- M&A (Strong Plus): Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions, corporate restructuring, or integration is highly advantageous, though not mandatory.
Qualifications: A professional accounting qualification is considered a nice-to-have, but solid executive experience is our client's primary focus.
