Our client, a well-established and renowned river cruise company with extensive history on the Thames, is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join their crew. We are looking for an individual with a strong technical foundation in electrical systems, particularly with a keen interest in diesel and hybrid electric propulsion, and a passion for marine environments.
You will be instrumental in performing routine maintenance, ensuring the optimal performance of hybrid and diesel-electric engines before, during, and after events. This role also involves implementing preventive measures to prioritise the health and safety of both clients and crew by maintaining robust electrical systems.
- Advanced Electrical Systems Management: Take the lead on electrical engineering tasks, including servicing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting complex electrical issues within marine vessels.
- Integrated Boat Systems Maintenance: Provide comprehensive boat maintenance services with a focus on electrical components across a wide range of marina support functions, including plumbing and heating systems.
- Specialized Electrical Expertise: Utilise your experience with cutting-edge electrical technologies such as PLC controllers, High Voltage/DC Charging systems, Electrical/power distribution networks, and Converters/Inverters.
- Safety and Compliance: Take full responsibility for maintaining and enhancing electrical health and safety standards on board.
- Support vessel operations: Including driving vessels under the supervision of the Captain.
- Technical Leadership: Inspire and guide colleagues in developing their technical knowledge, particularly in marine electrical engineering.
Experience with diesel-driven engine or generator maintenance, focusing on their electrical interfaces. Strong background in both Mechanical and Electrical engineering, with a preference for electrical specialisation. Flexibility to work either 2 days on, 2 days off, with some evenings during events, or the typical 8-6, 5 days out of 7 schedule. Previous marine industry experience is preferred but not required, as long as you possess strong electrical engineering fundamentals.
