My client, a premier hospitality group known for high-end, architecturally unique mobile venues, is looking for an ambitious Junior Marine Engineer / Technical Specialist to join their London-based operations. This isn’t a standard, repetitive engineering job. It’s an incredible development opportunity where you will work alongside seasoned professionals, earn maritime qualifications, and eventually learn to captain sophisticated vessels on London's iconic waterways.
If you already know your way around a diesel engine, understand basic fault-finding, or have a passion for mechanical and electrical systems, you have the perfect foundation. They will invest in you, provide the mentorship, and deliver the maritime training to bridge the gap.
Responsibilities- Learn to service and fault-find on marine diesel engines, generators, and cutting-edge hybrid-electric propulsion systems under expert guidance.
- Master the management of onboard electrical distribution, HVAC, plumbing, and heating systems to keep a luxury fleet running flawlessly.
- Implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure the fleet meets five-star safety and operational standards.
- Share your mechanical knowledge with the team while absorbing specialised maritime skills from senior engineers.
- A qualification or solid foundational experience in engineering/mechanics (Marine, Automotive, HGV, or Plant/Heavy Machinery).
- A genuine desire to develop a long-term career in the maritime sector and a passion for learning about both diesel and modern electric motors.
- Any baseline experience with DC charging, power distribution, or diagnostics is a massive plus.
- Ability to work shifts (e.g., 2-on/2-off rotations), including some evenings during high-profile events.
- Must be based within a commutable distance of Central London.
