On behalf of a large and well-known globally integrated professional services firm, we are helping search for a commercially astute Finance Director/CFO to take the financial helm of one of their highest-performing regional divisions. Generating nine-figure revenues, the UK business is an integral part of the firm’s international operations. In this executive seat, you will serve as the trusted strategic advisor to the Regional Managing Director and the bridge to global headquarters. You will lead a high‑calibre finance function, balancing rigorous corporate governance with active contributions to commercial strategy, margin optimisation, and organisational change. This is a hybrid role offering excellent flexibility, balancing remote work with purposeful time in the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial/Strategic Co‑Pilot: Partner with the UK executive board to architect, refine, and execute the region's overarching commercial strategy.
- Regulatory & Corporate Stewardship: Guarantee total compliance with UK statutory mandates, tax frameworks, and internal global policy standards.
- Financial Intelligence: Lead robust FP&A, forecasting, and budgetary cycles, delivering sharp, narrative‑driven variance analysis to both local management and global stakeholders.
- Team Management: Guide, inspire, and upskill a capable UK finance team (40 people), fostering an environment centred on continuous development and operational excellence.
- Business Transformation: Evaluate investment business cases, optimise working capital, and identify structural efficiencies to drive sustainable business transformation.
Requirements
- Proven Executive Leadership: At least 5 years of experience operating successfully at the CFO or Finance Director level.
- Multinational Complexity: A proven track record within complex, matrixed international corporations—specifically managing financial operations for business units with a turnover exceeding £200m.
- Transformation Acumen: Demonstrated success in steering organisational change and influencing long‑term corporate growth by looking far beyond the numbers.
- Qualifications: A professional accounting qualification is required, but solid executive experience is our client's primary focus.
