Our expert team of new business strategists develop highly bespoke growth strategies, backed by data and insights. You’ll be responsible for executing the plan for each of your clients. You’ll use research, content, thought-leadership and events; essentially drip-feeding relevant value-added assets to your brand-side target audience, via bespoke calls and digital channels. It’s your job to both track the success of this outreach and help nurture individuals through every stage of the funnel: from early stage, marketing engaged prospects, right through to fully sales qualified leads.
Key responsibilities
- Business development
- New business campaign execution: You’ll be the primary point of deployment for all new business outreach.
- Proficiency in making outbound phone calls/cold calling and a willingness to engage with potential clients is a must; you’ll need strong verbal & written communications skills to pitch ideas and secure introductions.
- The ability to nurture long-term relationships and stay on top of your pipeline is key.
- Account Management
- Reporting - you’ll be responsible for four separate agency clients and will be expected to own the pipeline for each one: ensuring the Hubspot CRM system is fully accurate and up to date. You’ll also join weekly status calls with each client to discuss lessons, learnings and successes from each activity strand. You’ll also create carefully researched meeting packs for every opportunity you uncover.
- Client facing: You’ll regularly spend time in each client’s office too, a great chance to get exposure to some of the brightest minds in marketing.
What will make you successful?
You know how every job ad expects you to be proactive, articulate, and inquisitive? Well, we really mean it. These are core skills - a must, not a nice to have. Fundamentally though, the role boils down to brilliant communication: with colleagues, with senior-level clients, and with high-profile prospects. Having outstanding verbal and written skills is imperative.
We’re looking for confidence and intelligence; people with a strong work ethic who aren’t afraid to get stuck in. Someone who gets energised, and not afraid, of sales targets. If you’re the kind of person who thrives in fast-paced environments, and who lives to see your name at the top of the performance leaderboard, we want to hear from you.
Wider key traits that define all our top performers:
- Resilience – you’ll need to consistently deliver against meeting targets and commercial KPIs. It’s vital you can remain focused, busy and productive, and show resilience in the face of setbacks to achieve the relevant volume of MQLs and SQLs.
- Savvy: Our account managers are required to both fully understand the proposition and key case studies for each of their clients and are expected to immerse themselves into the key target verticals: staying abreast of trends, news and themes.
- Attention to detail - you’ll be representing your clients directly and it’s vital we take them to market in a diligent and professional manner. There’s no room for typos or spelling mistakes, diary clashes, or communication breakdowns.
- Organisation - you’ll be juggling multiple tasks, client schedules and strategies every day and every week. We’re looking for people who thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and can ‘crack on’ (with direction but without micromanagement).
