Our client is an established organisation, offering a high-end product in the construction industry. Due to business growth they seek a qualified management accountant to join the team, the role will play a critical role in managing the financial health of the business.
You will be responsible for preparing management accounts, processing VAT returns, ensuring compliance and overseeing invoice accuracy across various projects. You will also manage general bookkeeping functions and ensure all financial records are accurate and up to date. This is a key role in maintaining strong financial controls across the business.
Key areas of responsibility:- Prepare and present monthly management accounts for each project to the leadership team, providing insights into financial performance and recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Process CIS deductions and returns, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Prepare detailed cash flow forecasts to help manage liquidity and ensure sufficient funding for projects.
- Maintain and monitor overhead forecasts to ensure accurate allocation of costs and support financial planning.
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions, including maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and managing ledgers.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring performance against budgeted figures.
- Continuously evaluate financial processes and systems, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
This is a broad role, created in a period of growth which offers strong development potential and clear progression as the business continues to expand. Successful candidates will be professionally qualified (ACA / CIMA / ACCA) with proven management accounts experience. The role requires strong VAT knowledge and CIS experience is highly advantageous. Candidates should have experience of Xero software and the ability to liaise at all levels of the business.
