Senior Scientist TCR Cell Therapy (Oncology) Location: Oxfordshire Department: R&D Oncology / Cell Therapy Salary: £50,000£60,000 pa plus Benefits About Us Executive Recruitment have again been retained by this innovative biotech based in Oxfordshire specialising in engineered T-cell receptor (TCR-T) therapies targeting solid tumours. Their mission is to deliver next-generation immunotherapies with enhanced specificity and clinical impact. To that end we are looking to speak with Senior Scientists within this niche area of expertise. More about the role below. Key Responsibilities Lead design and execution of in?vitro and ex?vivo functional assays to evaluate engineered TCR-T constructs (cytotoxicity, proliferation, cytokine release). Develop and optimise immunophenotyping methods using multi-colour flow cytometry, ELISA/ELISPOT, T-cell isolation, expansion, and killing assays. Conduct preclinical study designs, including lentiviral/retroviral transduction of T cells, gene editing (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9), and cell therapy process development. Interpret experimental data, drive go/no-go decision-making, and present findings internally and externally. Mentor junior scientists, maintain lab quality standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams (bioinformatics, translational research, in?vivo). Stay updated on TCR-T and CAR-T advances, incorporating new technologies and publications into R&D strategy. Technical Skills Fluency in multi-parameter flow cytometry (including immunophenotyping and high-content analysis) Robust experience with functional T-cell assays (cytotoxicity, proliferation, cytokine release, ELISPOT) Molecular biology expertise: gene editing (CRISPR), stable cell line generation, gene expression analysis Familiarity with pre-clinical in?vivo or translational assay systems (desirable) Professional Skills Strong analytical capabilities with data interpretation and statistical presentation Excellent written/oral communication.
