Our client is a well-established, high-growth ecommerce business operating across B2C, B2B and D2C channels.

As the business continues to scale, they are seeking an exceptional General Manager with the ambition and capability to progress into the UK CEO role.

You'll combine strategic leadership with a hands‑on approach, driving profitable growth, operational excellence and organisational performance while working closely with the current CEO and global leadership team.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO, you will hold full P&L responsibility for the UK business, leading commercial strategy, operations, supply chain, warehousing, finance and people.

With a clear succession plan in place, you will progressively assume greater strategic responsibility as you prepare to lead the UK business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall commercial and operational performance of the UK business, delivering sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Work closely with the CEO and global leadership team to develop and execute the annual business plan and budget, translating strategic objectives into measurable operational targets.
  • Take increasing strategic ownership of the business, preparing for progression into the UK CEO position.
  • Drive operational excellence across warehousing, fulfilment, logistics and customer operations, ensuring efficiency, scalability and service excellence.
  • Lead supplier, courier, freight and supply chain negotiations to optimise costs, improve performance and protect margins.
  • Oversee marketplace and ecommerce trading performance, maximising sales opportunities across multiple digital channels.
  • Ensure robust financial planning, budget management and cost control across the business.
  • Lead, develop and inspire a high‑performing leadership team, driving accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee workforce planning, senior recruitment, performance management and reward strategies to attract and retain exceptional talent.
  • Act as the senior UK representative with HQ, ensuring alignment with wider group strategy and delivering key strategic initiatives.

Experience Required

  • You are an ambitious, commercially driven leader who thrives in fast‑paced, entrepreneurial ecommerce environments.

You combine strategic thinking with operational excellence and are comfortable rolling up your sleeves when required.

  • Significant senior leadership experience, including leading large‑scale ecommerce operations.
  • Proven success managing full P&L responsibility within a consumer products, retail or ecommerce environment.
  • Strong experience across ecommerce trading, operations, fulfilment, supply chain and warehouse management.
  • Demonstrable success negotiating UK logistics, courier, freight and supply chain contracts.
  • Commercially astute with a solid understanding of finance, marketing and people leadership.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence from shop floor to board level.
