Overview

As Head of Banking & Finance, you will lead and develop a busy and well-established practice advising an impressive client base of banks, alternative lenders, financial institutions, corporate borrowers, developers and investors. You will advise on a broad range of secured and unsecured lending transactions, acquisition finance, real estate finance, development finance, refinancing, asset-based lending and corporate banking matters. You will collaborate with colleagues across the firm to deliver commercially focused advice on complex, high-value transactions while driving the growth of the Birmingham practice. You will also play a pivotal role in developing client relationships, winning new work, mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the firm's wider national banking strategy.

  • Lead and develop the Birmingham banking practice, including strategy, growth and quality of legal delivery.
  • Counsel and project-manage a broad portfolio of secured and unsecured lending transactions.
  • Advise on acquisition finance, real estate finance, development finance, refinancing, asset-based lending and corporate banking matters.
  • Collaborate with corporate, real estate, restructuring and insolvency teams to provide integrated solutions.
  • Develop client relationships, win new work, and mentor junior lawyers.
  • Contribute to the firm's national banking strategy and practice development.

The Candidate / Requirements

Ambitious Banking & Finance Solicitors with extensive experience in a leading regional, national or international law firm. Excellent technical ability, strong commercial awareness and an established Midlands network. Experience leading teams, developing client relationships and generating new business is highly advantageous. This opportunity suits an existing Partner or an ambitious Legal Director seeking a genuine route into a leadership role with the support of a national practice.
