A well-established law firm in Sheffield is seeking an experienced Childcare Locum Solicitor to join their team on an urgent basis for an initial 6-month assignment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team handling a busy and varied caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of publicly funded (legal aid) childcare matters
- Handling cases involving care proceedings, PLO matters, and safeguarding issues
- Representing clients at hearings where required
- Liaising with clients, local authorities, counsel, and other third parties
- Ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with strong experience in childcare law
- Proven experience managing a legal aid childcare caseload independently
- Familiarity with Legal Aid Agency processes and compliance
- Strong advocacy and client care skills
- Ability to hit the ground running
Working Arrangements:
- Office-based or hybrid working (flexibility may be considered)
- Full-time preferred
