Overview:

Our client is seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated private client solicitor to join their team on either a full-time or part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years PQE and the ability to deliver a comprehensive range of private client services.

Responsibilities:

  1. Will Drafting: Provide expert advice and drafting services for clients, ensuring their wishes are accurately and effectively documented.
  2. Probate and Estate Administration: Manage the administration of estates, including obtaining grants of probate and letters of administration, and ensuring smooth estate settlement.
  3. Inheritance Tax Planning and Trusts: Advise clients on inheritance tax matters, helping to develop effective strategies to minimise liabilities and manage trusts.
  4. Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection Work: Assist clients in setting up lasting powers of attorney and handle matters related to the Court of Protection.
  5. Contentious Probate: Although not essential, experience in contentious probate is desirable. Candidates should be capable of managing disputes efficiently and effectively.
  6. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing a high level of service and tailored advice.
  7. Team Collaboration: Work independently while also contributing to and learning from the private client team.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 3+ years PQE in private client work.
  2. Strong knowledge and experience in wills, probate, estate administration, inheritance tax planning, and trusts.
  3. Proficiency in managing lasting powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters.
  4. Experience in contentious probate is desirable but not essential.
  5. STEP membership and/or Association of Lifetime Lawyers membership would be an advantage.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
