An excellent opportunity for a Marine Insurance Solicitor to join a growing and internationally recognised marine team handling complex and high‑value disputes across the global shipping and insurance markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise on a wide range of marine insurance and shipping disputes, including coverage disputes, recovery actions, charterers’ liability claims, reinsurance matters and international trade disputes.
  • Handle wet and dry shipping matters such as salvage, collision, general average, charterparty disputes, ship sale and shipbuilding disputes.
  • Support complex and high‑profile claims, assist with policy drafting and work closely with senior lawyers on technically challenging matters across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Participate in networking and business development activities as part of a collaborative and growing team.
  • Hybrid working is supported.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified Solicitor with at least two years post‑qualification experience in a recognised marine or shipping practice.
  • Experience handling marine insurance litigation matters and a strong understanding of shipping disputes and marine insurance principles.
  • Exposure to court procedures and arbitration, particularly LMAA arbitration, will be advantageous.
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills, commercial awareness and the ability to work effectively within a team environment are essential.
  • Additional language skills are beneficial but not required.
