An established Top 100 UK law firm is investing in the continued growth of its Manchester office and is now looking to appoint a senior Commercial Litigation Solicitor to lead and develop its disputes capability across the North West.
This appointment suits a commercially minded litigator who wants more than just a fee-earning role — offering the chance to shape strategy, build a team and influence the direction of a growing regional practice with the backing of a national platform.
The Position
Joining at Legal Director or Partner level, you will be responsible for expanding the firm's Commercial Litigation profile in Manchester. You'll work closely with colleagues nationally while acting as the focal point for disputes work in the region.
Your work will include:
- Taking the lead on the Manchester commercial disputes practice
- Advising businesses on high-value and complex litigation matters
- Running cases across the High Court, mediation and other dispute forums
- Handling contractual, shareholder, professional negligence and commercial conflict matters
- Collaborating with corporate, insolvency and commercial teams on contentious issues
- Developing client relationships and strengthening the firm's North West reputation
- Building, mentoring and managing a disputes team
About You
- England & Wales qualified Solicitor specialising in Commercial Litigation
- Likely 8+ years' PQE (flexible for exceptional candidates)
- Strong technical disputes background with a commercial mindset
- Track record of winning work and maintaining trusted client relationships
- Ambition to grow and lead a practice area
- Confident, collaborative and business-focused
- A client following is beneficial, but not required, however it is essential that you have a strong network of contacts around the North West of England
