We are seeking a proactive and organised Legal Assistant to join a busy Commercial Property department at a well-established law firm in Dorset. This is an office-based role supporting fee earners with a varied caseload of commercial property matters. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous legal support experience who is looking to develop their career within commercial property.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative and legal support to Commercial Property fee earners
  • Preparing and formatting legal documents, contracts and leases
  • Drafting correspondence and managing client communications
  • Opening and closing files, conducting ID checks and ensuring AML compliance
  • Carrying out Land Registry searches and Companies House checks
  • Managing diaries, arranging meetings and handling telephone enquiries
  • Assisting with completion statements and post-completion matters
  • Maintaining accurate file management and case management systems

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Secretary within a Commercial Property department (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of commercial conveyancing processes
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills, including case management systems and Microsoft Office
  • Professional and confident communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
