A well-established and forward‐thinking law firm is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to join its Business Support Team in West Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong legal sector experience to take ownership of financial reporting, regulatory compliance and team management.
Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls and ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, analyse financial performance, investigate budget variances, and assist with forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Take responsibility for quarterly VAT returns.
- Support annual financial and SRA audits.
- Improve financial systems and processes.
- Lead the finance team.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders across the firm and play a key role in the ongoing development of the finance function.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years' relevant finance experience, ideally gained within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong management accounting skills.
- Experience of budgeting and forecasting.
- Excellent understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules.
- Experience of preparing VAT returns, supporting audits and implementing process improvements.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and finance systems.
