A well-established law firm in Sheffield is seeking an experienced Childcare Locum Solicitor to join their team on an urgent basis for an initial 6-month assignment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team handling a busy and varied caseload.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a caseload of publicly funded (legal aid) childcare matters
  • Handling cases involving care proceedings, PLO matters, and safeguarding issues
  • Representing clients at hearings where required
  • Liaising with clients, local authorities, counsel, and other third parties
  • Ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with strong experience in childcare law
  • Proven experience managing a legal aid childcare caseload independently
  • Familiarity with Legal Aid Agency processes and compliance
  • Strong advocacy and client care skills
  • Ability to hit the ground running

Working Arrangements:

  • Office-based or hybrid working (flexibility may be considered)
  • Full-time preferred
  • Start Date: ASAP
