A well-established firm is seeking a confident and motivated Family Solicitor to take the lead and make a lasting impact within a growing practice.
The Role
The successful Family Solicitor will lead and develop the firm's family law team, managing a varied caseload across the full spectrum of privately funded family matters including divorce, financial remedy work, private children issues, cohabitation disputes and pre/post-nuptial agreements. You will work independently whilst providing clear, commercially sound advice while maintaining the highest standards of client care. As the department grows, you will contribute to business development, building local relationships and generating new instructions. The role also includes mentoring an enthusiastic NQ, ensuring consistent quality and supporting their professional development.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will need at least 5 years' PQE and a proven track record in handling a broad range of privately funded family matters. You will be confident managing your own caseload, providing clear and commercially aware advice and maintaining exceptional client care. Strong interpersonal skills are essential as you will be building local relationships, contributing to business development and mentoring an NQ within the team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, motivated and capable of taking ownership of a growing department.
