THE ROLE:
- This is a dynamic role involving high-quality legal work, direct collaboration with social care professionals, and regular advocacy in the Family Courts.
- You will manage a varied and complex caseload of public law childcare proceedings, supporting Children's Services to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
- Handle complex and sensitive cases including non-accidental injury, sexual abuse, neglect, and multi-agency disputes.
- Conduct advocacy in Family Proceedings Courts and County Courts.
- Prepare court documents including applications, threshold documents, witness statements, and case management orders.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Applications are sought from Childcare Solicitors or Legal Executives with a minimum of 3 Years PQE.
- Proven experience handling childcare/public law caseloads.
- Experience of advocacy in family proceedings.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding law and local government children's services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage complex, high-pressure workloads effectively.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior lawyers.
