The Opportunity
A highly respected, long-established firm based in central Plymouth is seeking an experienced Private Client Locum Solicitor or Legal Executive to join their team on an ongoing part-time basis (4 days per week). This role offers hybrid working, though the successful candidate must be locally based or easily commutable to attend occasional in-person meetings as needed.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and collaborative team in a growth area for the firm. For the right candidate, there is potential for a temp-to-perm arrangement, though this is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload with a focus on probate and trust administration
- Occasional wills and powers of attorney
- Supporting departmental meetings and contributing to team development
- Working with the existing structure (not yet paper-light)
- Collaborating closely with a team that values input from all fee earners
The Ideal Candidate
- 3–5 PQE+ in private client law
- Able to handle probate and trust matters independently
- Comfortable with occasional will drafting and POAs
- Available to work 4 days per week
- Based locally or within reasonable commuting distance to Plymouth
- Open to ongoing locum work, with potential interest in a permanent role (optional)
