We are looking for a Court of Protection Lawyer to join this caring and growing team working alongside the Head of Department, specialising in advising vulnerable individuals. As a challenging but rewarding area of work, this team is dedicated to ensuring the best outcomes for their clients, with a strong focus on professionalism, empathy and delivering an effective and efficient service.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert legal advice and representation to vulnerable clients, including Court of Protection and Attorneyship matters.
  • Handling a varied caseload, which may include matters relating to the Court of Protection, mental capacity or safeguarding issues.
  • Working closely with clients, families, carers, and external organisations to ensure holistic and tailored support.
  • Travelling to see clients in their home, care home, hospital or hospice.
  • Helping supervise and develop more junior members of the team, including apprentices and trainee solicitors.

The successful lawyer will possess the following skills:

  • Able to manage their own caseload.
  • Help supervise and mentor more junior members of the team.
  • Strong background in Court of Protection.
  • Polite telephone manner.
  • Able to work to deadlines and prioritise their own workload.
  • Excellent client care skills.
  • Work effectively as a team member within a busy and growing department.
