Criminal Duty Solicitor / 1+ PQE / Manchester / c£50,000 DOE – an excellent opportunity for a Criminal Defence Solicitor looking to establish their career in criminal law, as well as for more experienced practitioners seeking to further develop and progress within a supportive and fast‐paced environment.

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of criminal defence matters including attending police stations and representing clients at the Magistrates' Court. The role also involves assisting with Crown Court cases where appropriate, participating in the duty rota including out‐of‐hours work, and working closely with experienced colleagues on case preparation. The successful applicant will be expected to deliver high‐quality, timely and robust legal advice to clients at all times.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with current Duty Solicitor Accreditation, which is essential for this role. Candidates should have experience handling criminal matters, either during training or post‐qualification, and be confident attending police stations and representing clients before the Magistrates' Court. Strong advocacy skills, the ability to work effectively under pressure, and a commitment to excellent client care and professional standards are essential. The successful applicant will also possess excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to work, and a willingness to participate in the out‐of‐hours duty rota.
