The Role:

  • Manage your own caseload of public children matters, including care proceedings and related family law work, while undertaking your own advocacy and working closely with clients throughout the litigation process.
  • Managing a busy caseload of childcare and care proceedings matters.
  • Conducting your own advocacy.
  • Interviewing and advising clients.
  • Maintaining accurate case management records and file reviews.
  • Ensuring Legal Aid matters are progressed efficiently, including interim billing through the CCMS portal.
  • Keeping fully up to date with developments in children law and practice.
  • Supporting networking and business development activities.

About You:

  • Law Society Children Panel Membership essential.
  • 2–3 years’ PQE in Care/Public Family Law.
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Experience using the CCMS portal.
  • Strong advocacy skills.
  • Sound knowledge of legal aid billing and procedures.
  • Proactive, organised and commercially aware approach.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
