An organisation delivering a nationally significant infrastructure programme is seeking an experienced Property Counsel to provide high-quality property legal advice across a complex and diverse portfolio of land and property matters.

The Property Counsel will advise internal stakeholders on all aspects of property law, with a particular focus on utilities and statutory undertaker matters. The role will support the timely delivery of property requirements, minimise legal risk, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks, while operating with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on the acquisition and disposal of a wide range of property interests, including commercial, residential and agricultural land
  • Drafting and negotiating leases, licences, easements and other property agreements, including those relating to utilities and statutory undertakers
  • Supporting compulsory purchase and statutory powers matters, including research and advice on relevant legislation and case law
  • Managing a varied caseload of complex property matters and contributing to senior stakeholder briefings and governance meetings
  • Managing external legal advisers where required and maintaining high standards of quality and cost control
  • Supporting continuous improvement through the development and maintenance of standard form documentation

ABOUT YOU:

  • Qualified solicitor with post-qualification experience in property law
  • Strong experience advising on utilities, infrastructure, development or construction-related property matters
  • Confident drafting complex property documentation and advising stakeholders at all levels
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
