A new opportunity for an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join a friendly and supportive team.

THE ROLE:

  • This is a dynamic role involving high-quality legal work, direct collaboration with social care professionals, and regular advocacy in the Family Courts.
  • You will manage a varied and complex caseload of public law childcare proceedings, supporting Children's Services to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
  • Handle complex and sensitive cases including non-accidental injury, sexual abuse, neglect, and multi-agency disputes.
  • Conduct advocacy in Family Proceedings Courts and County Courts.
  • Prepare court documents including applications, threshold documents, witness statements, and case management orders.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Applications are sought from Childcare Solicitors or Legal Executives with a minimum of 3 Years PQE.
  • Proven experience handling childcare/public law caseloads.
  • Experience of advocacy in family proceedings.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding law and local government children's services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex, high-pressure workloads effectively.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior lawyers.
