A well recognised law firm in the Dorset and Somerset area, providing legal services locally, nationally and beyond, is seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancer / Land and Property Lawyer to join its established Land & Property team. The Role
The firm is looking to recruit an additional full time qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (5+ years' PQE) to join its Somerset based Land and Property team.
You will act as one of the key lawyers within a dedicated property department, managing a varied and high quality residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to post completion. The role requires a high level of autonomy and the ability to work confidently toward time recording and billing targets with minimal supervision.
While the role has a residential property focus, a broader understanding of land law matters would be highly advantageous. Experience supervising trainee lawyers and support staff is also desirable.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a 5+ years' PQE Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
- Have strong overall knowledge of Residential Property and Land Law
- Be confident managing a full caseload end to end
- Enjoy working as part of a collaborative team while also working independently
- Demonstrate professional integrity, reliability and excellent client care skills
Knowledge of the local market and/or a personal connection to the area would be advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
- 5+ years' PQE in Residential Conveyancing / Property Law
- Strong technical knowledge of residential property transactions
- Ability to work to deadlines, billing targets and time recording requirements
- Experience using (or ability to adapt to) case management and digital dictation systems
- Ability to work effectively within a team and provide guidance to other team members
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Desirable
- Business development experience, including networking and/or social media
- Broader knowledge of land related matters
- Experience supervising trainees or support staff
- Local market knowledge or a strong connection to the area
- Ability to actively network and promote the Property practice
