A precision engineering & manufacturing business that designs and manufactures an innovative range of products for global export seeks a Quality Engineer.

The role offers varied responsibilities within a precision technology environment.

Duties

  • Co‑ordinating and controlling investigation of Customer/Supplier complaints to enable full understanding of real root cause failure and corrective actions.
  • Monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of any corrective actions taken to eliminate Supplier or Customer complaints.
  • Accountable for production quality issues – component inspection, corrective action, risk assessment and problem resolution.
  • Continuous monitoring of the manufacturing processes by audits, statistical analysis or other relevant techniques to support continuous improvement.
  • Providing guidance to shop floor staff on Quality Assurance and cost‑saving techniques.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Apprentice trained, HNC or Degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
  • Measurement & inspection of components and complete assemblies.
  • Structured problem‑solving skills – 8D, 5Y, A3, PPS.
  • Read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T.
  • Ability to utilise metrology equipment – CMM and manual measuring tools.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Familiarity with close tolerance engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Internal auditor experience desirable.
  • Proven ability to use quality tools such as PPAP, Control Plans, MSA and PFMEA.
