Job Title: Service Engineer

Location: Northamptonshire

Salary: £45,000 Basic (Negotiable DOE), Occasional Overtime Available, Company Pension Scheme, Holiday allowance that increases with length of service, Full Product Training Provided.

Job Description

We have a brand-new opening for a Service Engineer to join a well-established, reputable hire company based in Northamptonshire. This organisation have prided themselves on delivering a first-class service to their trusted customer base across the lifting industry for over 20 years. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to join a close-nit team, where your input is valued, and where full ongoing training is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment within the yard.
  • Ensure all service activities are accurately documented and meet Health & Safety standards.
  • Take ownership of the quality of equipment leaving the yard, ensuring it is fit for purpose.
  • Respond to breakdowns swiftly—both in the yard and on-site—diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently.
  • When required, provide first-line technical support to internal teams and external customers.
  • Oversee stock control, and advise on parts requirements.
  • Support the loading/unloading and safe storage of yard equipment.

Requirements

  • Ideally hold an NVQ or City & Guilds in Engineering, however time served engineers will also be strongly considered.
  • Ideally have experience working on Cranes, Construction Plant, Agricultural Machinery or Forestry Equipment.
  • Hold a Full UK driving license
