A Global fast-paced manufacturing company are looking for a Quality Lead to join the team at their impressive site in the Greater London area, Enfield. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working, adaptable and personable Quality Lead with a strong technical background within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Operating in a busy environment and reporting into the Quality Manager, you will have strong evidence of quality experience in a similar facility. This is a fantastic opportunity with a global company who offer fantastic progression possibilities. The Quality department is currently operating on a straight days shift pattern, on a 37.5 hour work week, five days in the office.

The key responsibilities of the Quality Lead role will be:

  • Team Leadership & Development: Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to the Lab Technicians team to optimize individual and team performance.
  • Resource & Workforce Planning: Oversee short-term labour planning including managing schedules, absences, holidays, and leave to ensure seamless lab operations.
  • QESH Support & Compliance: Collaborate with Production Managers to uphold Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Health (QESH) standards by offering guidance and training to all relevant team members.
  • Complaint Management: Lead the investigation of product and process complaints within the Performance Cell / Area. Develop and implement corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Audit Readiness & Action Plans: Support QESH audits by preparing necessary documentation, responding to audit observations, and ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Project Collaboration: Partner with the Engineering & Technology department on new investments and improvement initiatives relevant to the Performance Cell / Area.
  • KBI Monitoring & Continuous Improvement: Track QESH Key Business Indicators (KBIs), analyze performance, and initiate corrective measures to address deviations from targets.
  • Operational Excellence: Contribute to and support operational excellence initiatives to drive efficiency and innovation across the area.

The key requirements of the Quality Lead will be:

  • Working within food or beverage manufacturing environments.
  • Overseeing compliance with legislation and risk management protocols.
  • Handling consumer and customer complaints effectively.
  • Leading teams responsible for quality testing and analytical processes.
  • A hands-on approach, clear communication skills.
  • A graduate with Chemistry/Food/Engineering related qualifications is preferred.
